The Florida Tropics are a professional indoor soccer team that will begin play in November of 2016 at the Lakeland Civic Center. The team will play at the highest level of professional indoor soccer in North America. The team is owned and operated by Central Florida Sports Ventures, LLC. The executive team managing the club consists of sport management personnel with over 40 years of combined industry experience. The following full and part time opportunities are available:

Account Executive Full-Time Position: 

The Florida Tropics are looking for an Account Executive to assist the teams sales goals. The Account Executive will report to the assistant general manager and assist with the day-to-day objectives of the Management group. The Account Executive will also assist with day-to-day and game day operations. Candidate must be able to work at least 40 hours per week.

Job Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for the sales of new Full, Partial and Group Outing ticket packages and Hospitality spaces to both corporations and the general public
  • Responsible for developing new corporate partnerships and revenue through the sale of team sponsorship inventory
  • Meet and exceed established weekly, monthly and annual sales goals
  • Generate business revenue using sales methods including face-to-face meetings, cold calls, prospecting and networking through both event and social media.
  • Implement and demonstrate outbound sales efforts by using sales and service best practices, prospecting, networking, lead generation, referral gathering, data capture and personal database management
  • Generate a pre-determined minimum number of weekly out of office “face-to-face” meetings and calls to create new business opportunities
  • Provide a superior level of customer service to existing and new business clients
  • Continually create and implement unique sales strategies, ideas and programs as a means of producing new business opportunities
  • Contribute positively to the sales team culture by developing mutually beneficial working relationships with all team members
  • Participate and contribute to daily or weekly sales team meetings and training sessions

Qualifications: 

  • Prior sales experience preferred but not required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
  • Bilingual skills a plus
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, Dreamweaver) is preferred
  • Strong organization and time management skills required
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment required
  • Able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Sales and Commission driven
  • Experience in the Florida marketplace preferred but not necessary

Sales and Marketing Internship (commission opportunity):

The Florida Tropics are looking for a sales & marketing intern to assist the teams Sales and Marketing goals. The sales and marketing intern will report to the Assistant General Manager, VP of Operations, and assist with the day-to-day objectives of the Management group. Candidate must be able to work at least 20 hours per week.

Job Duties to include but not limited to:

  • Generate business revenue using sales methods including face-to-face meetings, cold calls, prospecting and networking through both event and social media.
  • Assist in the implementation of marketing goals and objectives
  • Assist in the achievement of organization sales goals
  • Creative thinking’s towards the design of marketing campaigns for both the on and off season
  • Conducting company, competitor, and target market research for both sales and industry marketing
  • Assist in creating and managing content for the team and league website
  • Participate in events, promotions, client entertainment and other activities as required.
  • Work on social media marketing efforts, including strategies, communication, and growth of Facebook, Twitter, etc.
  • Participate and contribute to daily or weekly sales team meetings and training sessions
